2015年にスタートしたエディトリアルストーリー”PLAY”。
東京の身近な場所を舞台に撮影、海外メディアで発表してきたシリーズの写真群と遊び心溢れる作品を展示します。

In 2015, the editorial story “PLAY” started.
Around the Tokyo neighborhood, we present a series of playful photographs and exhibitions.

2015年、青山のいちょう並木が黄色く色づいた頃に始まった”PLAY”シリーズ。

ロケーションは東京、どこにでもあるふつうの場所。
街の変化のスピードはとても早く、フィルムにとめおかないと忘れてしまいそうにも思える。

“PLAY”というテーマをみつけたのは、自然ななりゆきだった。
アイデアを考える、想像する、現場での撮影。
すべての過程において不可欠だったのは遊び心 = “PLAY”

世代が少し離れた若者たちと撮影現場を楽しむ。
懐かしい遊びや、落書き、駄菓子などから想像する撮影における小さな仕掛け。
もしかしたら彼らが始めて知るコトもあるかもしれない。

作品を共に作っていく中で、世代を超えて共有できる”遊びゴコロ”は誰の中にもあることにあらためて気づかされる。

懐かしいもの、知らないものは時に新しい。 すこしだけ視点を変えるだけでモノゴトにはおもしろさも見えてくる。

写真群を眺めながらクスッと笑えたら。 公園の広場の柔らかい風を感じてもらえたら。

あなたの遊びゴコロを動かせたら。

In 2015, the “PLAY” series started when the bright yellow Ginkgo leaves started filling the streets of Aoyama.

The location was Tokyo, an ordinary place where you can find elsewhere. Tokyo is a city where everything is fast-paced and changes happen very quickly - it often feels that documenting with a film camera is necessary in order to keep up with these changing movements.

“PLAY” was found organically, while thinking about ideas, imagining and curating photoshoots. In all things, the process of having a playful mind is necessary = “PLAY.”

These photoshoots were made together with young creatives who came from different generations and while having an enjoyable moment, reminiscing the old ways of playing as a child - the doodling, the sweets that children love became the inspiration behind this photoshoot. These things that are nostalgic to one generation may perhaps be things that the young-er generation newly experience. The discovery of the "playful mind" was something that was shared across all genera-tions when the photoshoot was happening.

Nostalgic, but something that is not yet discovered becomes the new. Changing the perspective, the ordinary becomes the unordinary, giving you a whole fun picture.

With the wish of these photos making you giggle a little, and the anticipation that you feel the soft wind at a playground,

I hope that I can inspire your playful heart.
